The emergence of online financial markets and the growing role of artificial intelligence algorithms in economic decision-making have raised fundamental questions regarding fairness and discrimination. A major challenge in this field is algorithmic discrimination and its impact on the rights of users and economic actors. The central research question of this study is what consequences algorithmic discrimination has in online financial markets and how this phenomenon can be analyzed and regulated through the lens of cyber law. The importance of this investigation lies in the fact that algorithmic discrimination may lead to the violation of equal access to financial services, the exacerbation of socio-economic inequalities, and the erosion of public trust in digital platforms. The primary objective of the article is to analyze the legal dimensions and socio-economic implications of such discrimination in the context of online financial markets. The research method is descriptive-analytical, relying on documentary study and analysis of legal texts and relevant international regulations. The findings indicate that algorithmic discrimination not only directly affects users’ financial choices but also indirectly fosters the concentration of power in financial technology companies and undermines fair competition. Moreover, a comparative review of cyber law reveals that the existing legal frameworks in many jurisdictions are insufficient to address this challenge, highlighting the need for clearer regulations and more effective oversight mechanisms. The innovative contribution of this study lies in its interdisciplinary analysis of algorithmic discrimination with a specific focus on its intersection with cyber law, which can serve as a basis for preventive and protective policy-making at both national and international levels.
