The rapid advancement of emerging technologies, particularly augmented reality (AR) and virtual reality (VR), has brought about a fundamental transformation in human, economic, and cultural interactions. These platforms, by merging digital spaces with real environments, not only redefine modes of communication and entertainment but also give rise to novel legal challenges. The central question of this study is to explore the role of cyber law in regulating various dimensions of AR and VR platforms and to determine how a balance can be achieved between individual freedoms, public interests, and security requirements. The importance of this research lies in the fact that the absence of clear legal frameworks may lead to violations of user privacy, the emergence of new forms of cybercrime, and even threats to national security. The primary objective of the article is to highlight the necessity of developing regulations tailored to the unique features of AR and VR technologies and to propose effective governance strategies. The methodology employed in this paper is descriptive–analytical, relying on documentary research and comparative analysis with advanced legal systems. The findings indicate that cyber law can establish essential rules concerning data protection, intellectual property, civil and criminal liability, and oversight mechanisms, thereby enabling the safe and responsible use of these platforms. The innovation of this study lies in presenting a proposed regulatory framework specifically designed for AR and VR, which can serve as a practical model for policymakers and legislators.
